I would like you to meet one of my true best friends!
his name as you might have guessed is Ricky..Ricky has not had a great life but in spite of that he has shown my wife and I that all he was lacking was being Loved..Ricky used to live at my neighbors he spent a lot of days and nights in a cage locked away and forgotten until the smell forced his owners to do something..My friend is tattooed on his stomach and his teeth are all crooked.and scares he has plenty..Some are fighting and survival scares and others are plain neglect done by the ones that "Loved"
Well Ricky was on his way to the final betrayal. His owners said they had all they wanted of Ricky that he was to mean and dangerous (gee I wonder why) Well Ricky was headed to the Pound and when I looked into that new friends eyes I could not let that happen..so I told them to hold on please and let me see what I could do..and mainly that meant getting the nod from my wife..And what a Blessing she is ..she has a fear of "mean" dogs but as I let her know that we were Ricky's last hope she opened our home and her Heart to this "mean dog" yes at first I went through some changes with Ricky because this little guy had recieved nothing but fear and hate from the ones he loved..But today the neighbors can not believe that this is the same Dog..and in fact it is not. He is who we have allowed him to be through love and trust he can be the friend that he always wanted to be and through the need for survival was not allowed to be..The other Day I had came home from the V.A. after a treatment for a gift from Vietnam and I was having a pretty bad time Guess who was there in my lap trying to make sure I was alright,, Yep that ole mean Dog...What a blessing he is to us and now I have to only go as far as where ever my wife is to find Him...curled up at her feet killing her with Love..
