Mr. President,
Sir I respectfully ask that before you and our lawmakers cut money from Social Security, and Veterans, Please look into this backroom and tell me and the American public that this money is better spent elsewhere!
Sir when I entered this back room I discovered why there is such a place. It is so you the law makers and the American public have a place to keep some of us out of sight and hopefully out of your mind and off your conscience.
When I entered this room I was a young Vietnam vet with a disability I received in the service of this country. I was young enough to believe if I did as my country and the office you now hold asked if disaster struck I would be taken care of. Sir while disaster did strike your word was just an empty promise. The truth of the matter is that my country has given me enough to live in the woods, the jails and mental institutions of this great country and most of all a life time home in this “crowed back room”
Sir the people I first met in my new home were the builders of this “great country”. Some were born here some Immigrated. All believed that if they would help build this” great country” and pay into the social security and taxes to support a new nation that God forbid disaster should strike this “great country” would take care of them…(we were all foolish at one time). Sir while old age and disaster have struck the word of your office and the word of this country were again empty promises. The truth of the matter is that this “great country” has given them enough money where they are faced daily with the choice of paying for medicine or paying for food and shelter.
Some are lucky and can afford to live in a flop house full of danger where a lot are harmed and robbed others are not even that lucky I know because I have seen them in the woods, jails and mental homes of this “great country”. Where there only crime or fault is that they can no longer GIVE to this “great country”.
And so our “great country” gives them one more thing a home for the rest of there life in “This Crowded Back Room”
As I hear the door open I look up to see if I should welcome the children now coming in or thank the lord when I see a body being taken out because finally they have escaped from
“THIS CROWED BACK ROOM”

Don't worry about whether we think it is fair or not. Your blog is your blog. It is your chance to say what you want to. Put it out there and let the chips fall where they may.
I have a dear friend, I graduated from highschool with, T-Bone Jackson who is dying from Agent Orange. We graduated in l963.
We held our 45th class reunion a year early, so he could make it.
He got $1,200 years ago. No VA help!!! He is precious and beautiful and a shell of the man he was, but on the inside he is strong, and proud! His wife has been by his side all these many years.
It all breaks my heart. I was raised to be a proud American. Viet Nam taught me alot.
Thanks for your post.
Heide
Thank you. And please tell your friend that as long as we stand we will stand as BROTHER'S. Although our numbers are shrinking there are still a lot of us. And while the Gov. does not care or hear us God loves and hears the wounded soldier..I will put him on my prayer list and tell him I thank and and pray for him God Bless You and Yours ..Allen
